Pioneer D-500 DAT Recorder
Pioneer D-500 Dat-Recorder
Unusual features include:
1. Anti-Vibration, Anti-Resonant Design
This unit employs a honeycomb chassis and large-sized honeycomb-type insulators designed to eliminate vibrations, and to prevent sound degradation caused by vibrations and resonance of the tape itself, an original cassette stabilizer is incorporated in the tape compartment.
2. Long Recording and Playback Time in Long Play Mode
Long Play mode lets you record up to four hours on a single tape with analog input sources. That's twice the maximum recording time possible in Standard Play mode. Long Play mode recording is also possible for digital input sources that have a 32 kHz sampling frequency.
3. Large Selection of Subcodes
This unit offers a wide variety of recording, erasure and playback subcode functions that give full play to the inherent capabilities of the DAT media. Subcodes including various types of time information, start IDs for indicating the start of tunes, skip IDs useful for cutting out unwanted commercials, tune number data, and end marks for indicating the end of programs can be recorded and used freely.
Moreover, you can record TOC (table of contents) data convenient for tape editing and library organization. Using this TOC data, you can search fortunes at an incredibly fast speed of nearly 300 times the normal playback speed.
4. Integrated Serial Copy Management System (SCMS)
SCMS stands for "Serial Copy Management System" and is an added function which adds copy prohibition related data to the digital signal for prohibiting uncontrolled copying of digital sources. Basically, this system is designed so that original digital sources (such as CDs) can be copied only once.
